Yamaha OEM Piston(standard)

So, sooner or later pistons do fail and this was the case with this little bike. Well, the piston probably did not fail but the piston rings caused this damage for sure. The piston was damaged on one cylinder so I also purchased a new set of rings for this too. The part was not hard to find and I used the tools Webike provide and cross referencing with Yamaha schematics. This piston was really good value and better in price than my local Yamaha dealer could beat. I had a few parts for this rebuild to ship so got them all together. I used EMS and all arrived in perfect condition in 5 days from shipping. The piston arrived in it's own little Yamaha box and was in tact and as I expected. There is no burns no marks and is basically just ready for reassembly for the big job in hand. The fitting was not hard, it is the rest of the rebuild that was a pain to do. Got it done pretty easily and was happy with the return of good compression to that cylinder. Now the bike runs a lot better. When you ever change anything on the crankshaft, then this is a part you really do need to purchase. It is not advisable to re-use a crankshaft lock washer as they can easily fail and they are really only a one hit wonder. Sometimes depending on where the lock washer is, you can just bend over one tang, hen you can re-use it for a second time with zero issues by bending the second tab. As this is for the crankshaft and not just a sprocket, I always buy as and when needed.I always have more than one item in my order as this saves on shipping, the same in this case. All were sent via EMS which arrived 5 days after shipping. The order was well packaged and all the items inside arrived in perfect condition. These Yamaha lock washers come in the Yamaha standard packaging and were also inside a bubble wrap envelope for safety. The construction is sturdy but does have a degree of give due to the action needed when bending over the tabs. The alignment with the spline on the shaft is perfect with barely any movement. Along with all the main parts for the upgrade from 125 to 155, the piston rings also needed to be changed. It just makes sense as the previous rings are far too small. Finding the correct rings was not super hard, I just used the tools Webike provide along with cross referencing with Yamaha schematics. Easy. The cost of the rings was really good and better than I thought even direct from Japan. I did have a few other parts in this order, including the piston, cylinder, gaskets etc for the bike and had them all shipped together. If you combine your items into one order, you do tend to save on shipping costs which is a bonus. I used EMS as they just get my order to me fast. No messing around, 5 days from shipping and they arrived at my door. The rings came in the standard Yamaha box and were surrounded in bubble wrap to keep everything safe and secure. The rings are well made and look really good quality. I have had some rings that just look like they will snap at the first sign of bending, but these look pretty robust. Fitting was not too bad as the bike was already apart. All back together, now I just need to run the bike at a lesser pace to bed them in. Along with the other parts to replace the complete cylinder, piston, rings etc. The con rod was also in need of a replacement. No point in replacing all the other parts and keeping the old con rod. This was a total upgrade for the NMAX125 to the bigger NMAX155 top end. Finding the right one for this model of bike was straight forward as I use the help tools Webike provide. Also, I cross referenced the parts through Yamaha schematics. The price was brilliant and so much better than I could source locally. EMS shipped my order and all the parts arrived in 5 days. Everything was very well packaged and there was no chance of any damage. Webike warehouse used a lot of bubble wrap. Great work guys. The con rod came in the Yamaha box and is of really great quality and I have never had any issues with fitment or the tolerances of any con rods from genuine sources. Original ignition coil for YAMAHA R1. Finally I changed all the ignition coils on the motorcycle. The old ignition coils no longer really held tightly, did not press tightly, they freely got out. But after replacing with new ignition coils, everything sits tightly. The motorcycle began to run smoothly. I replaced the old coils at 89,000 km.
